Why Not Try Advanced Driving.
A way of developing your driver skills, stay safe and save money.
Half-day Advanced Driving Experience.
This is a four-hour contact time advanced on-road driving programme that can take place using your own vehicle on a one-to-one basis that can be tailored to meet with your own individual needs. It is an introduction to the driving techniques that will help you to get to know your car better and to drive it more effectively safely on public roads. You will experience using the system of car control the system used by the emergency service drivers. You may well find this challenging as it may well break with your current driving style all features of which centre around vehicle control and stability factors.
The session will cover features such as defensive positioning, hazard recognition and management, accurate bend assessment and effective cornering methods, systematic, accurate and appropriate use of gears, the development of acceleration sense, as well as safe steering and braking techniques. Using the System of Car Control outlined in the publication Roadcraft 2020 edition.
As you progress you will discover your own ability to move the car smoothly and accurately over some most enjoyable roads that are chosen especially for you to get the best from your car.
At the end of the session if you feel that you should have booked the full-day.
Full-day Advanced Driving Experience.
This is a six-hour contact time advanced on-road driving programme that contains all the elements as covered during the Half-Day Advanced Driving Experience, but in greater detail. With the extra time available we aim to get to know your car more thoroughly to realise so much more satisfaction from driving it in a public road environment.
The session will cover additional features, such as controlled overtaking techniques, advanced observation methods, potential conflict identification, development of anticipation and effective bend entry positioning.
The distance you travel on this session may be in excess of 200 miles and requires a high level of concentration. Should you feel you would have difficulty in coping with this amount of driving in one day we will happily split it into two individual half-day sessions at no extra cost. Having completed this training, you may consider undertaking the advanced driving assessment, with one of the advanced driving associations. RoSPA, IAM RoadSmart
